hi Thalon. what kind of Gigabyte motherboard are you using?

I'm using an old Z97X-UD5H mounting an ALC1150 chip according to its specs, I can peacefully live with an outdated driver considering that the latest one works fine (also had problems with a previous one like Shonks had), but I like to update them from time to time and I noticed that no Gigabyte drivers showed up (not even official ones, and that's weird considering they still support their newest boards) and I was asking myself if something wrong happened to them considering that other manufacturers are more active with their releeases (I also checked the support page of their recent boards on their site and even there they seem to keep older drivers).

there are actually three versions or three "revisions" of the Z97X-UD5H board, Thalon
rev. 1.0 , 1.1 and 1.2 .  which "revision" of the Z97X-UD5H board do you have?

and what are the hardware device ID numbers of the "Realtek(R) Audio" or "Realtek High Definition Audio" device in Device Manager listed in the Sound, video and game controllers section?
see this Microsoft page & look at the "Obtaining the list of hardware IDs for a device" section on how to find the hardware IDs of a device in Device Manager.

ex. these are the hardware IDs on my Gigabyte GA-78LMT-USB3 R2 rev 1.0 board for the Realtek ALC892 audio device:
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182&REV_1001
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182

I'm sure my board is revision 1.0 (I still remember reading the label on it the time I assembled my PC).
My Realtek chipset ID is the following:

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_1458A182&REV_1000
HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0900&SUBSYS_1458A182

ok thanks. it's best to stay with the audio driver you are using and is not necessary to update to newer driver versions as they won't improve anything for your Gigabyte board.
bye now.
