Unofficial Realtek UAD Generic 6.0.9008.1
Due to Realtek not providing regular updates to HDXRTU.CAT, HDXRT.inf, HDXRTSST.inf and HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf, it wasn't possible to make a Realtek UAD Generic package for old systems that is 100% WHQL compliant. To workaround this setup installs latest generic WHQL compliant codec component (version 6.0.8924.1) with hardware support application, audio effects and service components taken from latest version and then a force updater is used to replace the old codec component (RTKVHD64.sys and RTAIODAT.DAT) with its latest version.

Due to absence of valid and updated copies of HDXRTU.CAT, HDXRT.inf, HDXRTSST.inf and HDX_GenericExt_RTK.inf (or equivalents) new hardware IDs introduced since 6.0.8825.1 are at most partially supported and those introduced since 6.0.8925.1 are completely unsupported.

actual v8978 has the 4.75 (dated 27th Dec 2019) installer & this one having the v4.76 installer for Dell (dated 18th June 2020).

What's the difference and/or benefits between these two installers (setup.exe) in terms of usage /application?

right...
I have a ASUS PRIME x570-PRO mobo...
I have ASUS/Realtek UAD driver v6.0.8971.1 installed currently...

try this v6.0.8988.1 UAD Asus driver direct from ASUS web site , Melchior (this is an EXE package & not a zip package - just run the exe file and reboot - includes the necessary HDXASUS.inf & HDX_AsusExt_RTK.inf files for your ASUS Prime X570-Pro board)

you can also try Mokichu's recent " UAD - ASUS ROG/PRIME/TUF RTK MB " driver, which does have the HDX_AsusExt_RTK.inf file as well

no real difference, SM-003 - just that Dell chose to use an updated setup installer for newer UAD drivers for v9008 & later
in other words - no big deal so don't worry about it

- found the originating source for generic 8978 FF00 HDA - Lenovo (at least Lenovo is still requesting new HDA drivers from Realtek on a few occasions)
