for those using Win10 v1809, do NOT install the KB4495667 (build 17763.475) update as the KB4495667 update breaks older Creative X-FI sound cards like XtremeGamer and causes loss of sound.

https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/x-fi-xtremegamer-not-working-after-installing/03070fe6-9490-4dba-8649-583c79ab0369

uninstall the KB4495667 update and reboot if using v1809. wait for Creative to issue new drivers for XtremeGamer, XtremeAudio, XtremeMusic, etc. that will work with Win10 v1809 + KB4495667 or higher update.
