and looking at intel site, only change is security updates

These driver updates for 3gen, 4gen and 5gen gen come after a year.. so at least they should be enough tested -> stable.
Are you running the latest version of Win 10 (1909)? Also try to install latest chipset drivers v10.1.18243.8188 (powershell, admin rights, run setup.exe with "-overall" at the end of command line). If you have + display card like nvidia or amd, update these drivers too.

would you like to explain the process fully? the latest version of intel inf chipset isn't for old gen CPU and only have the supporting inf files for 6th gen i.e skylake & up. Hence, those newer versions of chipset driver aren't able to instal on the older-gen system via the setup.exe.
that's why I'm asking about the procedure after seeing your comment here. if you've any how-to article or video link, kindly share here.

You have right about Haswell (4gen) but Skylake and onwards are still supported.
For 4gen and older, use v10.1.1.45 drivers.
10.1.1.45
There is no need for video, the procedure is quite simple:
extract the archive, right click on start button, choose Windows Powershell (Admin), navigate to the extracted folder or copy the address and paste in powershell like this:
cd C:\Chipset_Win10_64_10.1.1.45
If you do it right, you will be in working folder and Powershell output should look like this:
PS C:\Chipset_Win10_64_10.1.1.45>
then simply run the setup within the folder in powershell adding -overall argument at the end. (Overwrites all drivers)
.\SetupChipset.exe -overall
Setup should then pop up.

Intel INF 10.1.18010.8141 Dated 24th April 2019 was the last version that I've kept for using in my systems with 2nd 3rd 4th & 5th Gen iCPU
And Intel INF 10.1.18243.8188 Dated 13th Dec 2019 is for 6th Gen+ systems

Yes, Intel doesn't include the INF files for systems with an older CPU generation into their officially released "Intel(R) Chipset Device Software" packages.SM-003 wrote: And Intel INF 10.1.18243.8188 Dated 13th Dec 2019 is for 6th Gen+ systems
For users, who are searching for a package, which includes the currently latest INF files for all Intel chipsets from 6-Series up, I recommend to join >this< page and to download the "AIO Intel Chipset INF Files Package". The installation has to be done manually from within the Device Manager, but the big advantage is, that you avoid the installation of not wanted and not usable files.
