as it happens there was a version difference with the drivers I use for my motherboard's Intel i211

last version, Intel LAN Drivers (I211)(UWD)(Win10)(64bit)(v12.18.12.01)(2021-07-29)
new version from v27.1, Intel LAN Drivers (I211)(UWD)(Win10)(64bit)(v12.18.13.00)(2022-03-08)

and I am running Windows 11 Pro x64.
