Nouveau pack des drivers USB 3.0 de Renesas/Nec uPD720200 & uPD720200a USB 3.0 Controller qui passe de la version 2.1.28.1 WHQL a la version 2.1.32.0 WHQL.

Le chipset Renesas/Nec uPD720200 & uPD720200a sont les premiers à proposer le chipset USB 3.0 sur nos cartes mères Intel X58 et dorénavant délaisser aux profits des chipsets Asmedia, Fresco Logic, Texas instrument, Etron ou tout récemment intégrée sur les derniers chipsets Intel ou Amd.

Voici les améliorations ou corrèctions apportées (anglais):
[1. Add function]
1-1. IOCTL_USB_USER_REQUEST(UWSBUSER_GET_POWER_STATE_MAP) is supported.
1-2. HUB's icon isn't shown on the Devices and Printers of Windows7.

[2. Modified driver bugs]
2-1. There is a possibility of BSOD when OUT transaction with data shorter than 8byte
is transferred. Short packet is out of this issue.
We have never seen this BSOD on the real system. We found this on code review.
V2.1.16.0 or later version includes this bug.
2-2. There is a possibility of BSOD when a user changes the resolution of the video
capture application and an ISO device is disconnectd.
We have never seen this BSOD on the real system. We found this on code review.
2-3. There is a possibility of BSOD when OverCurrent indication occurs before Windows
OS detects the device.
We have never seen this BSOD on the real system. We found this on code review.
2-4. USB3.0 Devices connected with USB3.0 HUB are not detected after S3/S4 resume.
This issue occurs only under the following conditions.
- C_PORT_CONNECTION of the downstream port of the hub is not changed after resume.
- The PERSTB of the system is asserted after resume.
2-5. Driver did not check the descriptor size. If USB devices send the descriptor
with invalid size, driver might behave in undefined operation.
2-6. When BIOS does not release the ownership of xHCI after S3/S4 resume, host driver
should not have been loaded.
2-7. Wrong bandwidth information is displayed in the popup message when available
bandwidth is consumed.

[3. Solved interoperability issue caused by function driver or system]
3-1. PC freezes when any of the specific devices are disconnected.
3-2. The following specific devices can't work
A) The specific Wireless Headset does not produce sound in Windows XP enviroment.
B) The specific Keyboard is not detected.
This issue only occurs on V2.1.16.0 or later verion.
C) The specific Keyboard is not detected after remote wakeup under the condition
that ForceHCResetOnResume is set to 1.
D) The specific AV Portable Player disappears from Device Manager after it is
disabled in Device Manager.
E) Time from when the specific USB2.0 Flash is connected until it is detected
is over 30 seconds. This issue only occurs on V2.1.16.0 or later version and
on uPD720200A.
3-3. PC freezes when the specific Audio device is disconnected actively.
This issue only occurs on V2.1.25.0 or later version.
3-4. Monitor function of the specific docking station cannot work correctly after
resume when multi-display mode is used.
3-5. When multiple USB3.0-hubs including the specific hub are connected by cascade
connection and host driver is disabled and enabled, the hub connected with
the specific hub's downstream port is not detected.
3-6. When one of the multiple USB3.0 hubs in cascade connection is the specific
HUB, it is not detected after S3-Resume.
3-7. When a specific smart phone is working in tethering mode, communication
speed is too slow to keep the connection.

Disponible aussi sur la page de téléchargement, le dernier firmware version 3.0.2.8.0.8 (pour la serie 3.x) & Version 4.0.1.5.0.2 (pour la Serie 4.x) a mettre absolument a jour pour régler un problème d'intensité des ports USB.

J'ai un problème avec le dernier pilote 2.1.0.36

Avec le 2.1.0.32 tout va bien

Si j'installe la 2.1.0.36 sans désinstaller la 2.1.0.32 pas de problèmes tout va bien

Mais si j'installe directement la 2.1.0.36 alors là j'obtiens un pilote inconnu qui le fonctionne pas

NUSB3\ROOT_HUB30

On dirait donc que la 2.1.0.36 est uniquement une mise à jour ...

Well I got a strange problem here with my Controller with uPD720200 or uPD720200a chipset.

I'am at Driver 2.1.36.0 and firmware 4015.

First of all my WD USB 3.0 external HDD is not recognized by one of the usbports of the usbcard. Also and that is the most annoying thing. When I copy data from Hdd (usb or internal) to USBhdd connected to the Renesas controller. The USB HDD vanishes and the copy process stops. Short after that the HDD is being found again and I can start the copy over again. I disabled all Energy settings without any luck?

Also when the Firmware was at Version 3.XX the HDDs where better and faster found as with the Ver 4. But a downgrade is not possible at all.

Maybe someone could help out what I should do next. Are there any new Firmwares or newer driver not yet listed on the page? Is there a way to downgrade from 4 to 3?

You mean the USB Ports which are on my Gigabyte P35 Chipset Board? How can I read out the Firmware there? A newer Bios for the Board itself is not available.

I thought it is just the Renesas controller which makes these problems, because the internal USB 2.0 ports work very good but also not with the speeds I wanted to have with my USB3.0 Card with Renesas chipset.

your USB 3.0 devices (external disk, usb, hub, dock, etc ...) also possesses a firmware that needs to be also a day. the best chipset I saw being Asmedia, JMicron poses many problem.

I have two different external cases with the following chipsets

Symwave SW6316-3VB14 - Updated with the latest FW from WD --> This one makes the problems
Genesys Logic GL3310 - updated with the last FW from CNMemory --> This one halts copies in the middle and goes to sleep; even when I have turned all these option off.

The controller throws the whole drive out off the system and just by turning it off/on its back in the system.

Are there any updates available directly from the chipmanufacturer or from alternative sources?

A little question :

Are you on the quality of your cable (motherboard socket to usb) ?

I have a similar problems with the cables connecting the housing of the computer

With originals cables i have many shudown or not detection all the time or noise ( clic/clac ) with USB harddisks ( I think the diameter of the wires of connections is too low or/and too long )

If i use some cables from HP Desktop there is the problem more

what is the exact reference of your motherboard ?
